Since Magna is a Township under the direction of unincorporated Salt Lake County, and doesn't have a way to collect taxes. So that we may have funding source to pay for the purchase and cleanup of these properties that you have mentioned.

If you have a property that you would like looked into you can contact the Salt Lake County Code Enforcement at http://www.pwpds.slco.org/cfApps/zoning/codeEnforcement/.

Then you also have to remember that property owners have the right to use their property as they see fit as long as there isn't a hazard to the public or the surrounding neighbors. With that there is a very fine line that may be crossed in the name of freedom and government control.

Growing up in Magna I've seen the ups and downs your building a beautiful new Library directly at the bottom of my street which i'm very happy to see it coming down into the heart of Magna but there are pleanty of plances around it that need to be cleaned up Like the old Gem theatre that was used in makeing a movie they set it on fire and its been left that way a Place to the east of it that has to many cars and is not suppost to have that many unlicensed cars around it and a soon to be empty senior center hopefully will be used for something useful instead of setting empty. The market acrossed from the new library that needs to be cleaned up and checked for wrongful selling of cigarettes and beer to minors. as a permanent property owner of Magna I would like to see these areas and homes around the area made to clean up around there homes so we can live in a place we can be proud to call home and retire in.

Thank you for helping clean up magna with the trash dumpsters and all those that helped. It would be nice to see modern curb and gutters in old Magna as the ones that we have are falling apart from age. I would love to see this place fixed up as this town is a friendly place to live.
