The Magnify Your Life Healthy Community Cook-off
Magnify Your Life and Magna Healthy Communities are excited to host a community cook-off on June 18. Magna residents are encouraged to participate by cooking a healthy dish and submitting the recipe for it. At the event, professional chefs from the community will evaluate the entries to determine the best recipe, and the winner will go home with $150 grand prize!
In an effort to promote healthy eating, the judges will base their decisions on the nutritional value, taste, and cost of the recipes. Magnify Your Life and Magna Healthy Communities hope this event will allow the community to swap healthy recipes, learn new ideas, and discover that healthy foods can be delicious and inexpensive.
To learn more information and register for this free event, visit www.sites.google.com/site/cookmagna; this page can also be accessed from the Magnify Your Life website at www.magnifyyourlife.com. Online Weekly Recycling Survey
We need your input about weekly recycling collections!
During the Summer of 2010 and January of 2011 SLCO Sanitation conducted a series of waste audits; we dumped garbage trucks and seperated the recyclables from the trash. From these waste audits we determined that we could increase the amount we recycle by approximately 50% ( combination of summer and January numbers).
We are considering implementing weekly recycling this September to allow you to increase your recycling participation and conserve our natural resources.
Please take a few minutes and answer 4 questions on this survey and tell us how you feel about weekly recycle collection.

The survey will close on May 19th.
